Why use up the forests which were centuries in the making and the mines which required ages to lay down, if we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the annual growth of the hemp fields?

@DickieSeat I think his racist politics and money grubbing took up all his time. so the fuckin ford family will have to do without the props (and money) that someday go to someone who loves the earth and wants to see progress for the people and not creepy capitalism.
Hemp has been legal to grow in Sweden for many years.
People over here are still afraid of growing it though, since several farmers have been arrested with charges of producing hashish.
@theseanster7 The panel that was shown was not finished. It was the core without the skin. You wouldn’t see it in the finished car. Hemp grows much faster than timber plantations and takes about 4 times as much carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere per acre than trees. Hemp requires no pesticides and leaves the earth in a better condition than before it was planted. Hemp is a SUPERPLANT when it comes to environmental considerations. Far superior to any other crop out there.
Maybe because we have already caused enough damage and ‘natural disasters’ by chopping too many trees randomly? And just maybe because Hemp grows in one season. Instead of trees that need years? It’s not about the organic part here. Too little trees and too many @theseanster7’s
I hate it. it looks like someone put ply wood through a wood chipper and glued it back together to form the body panels. why not use regular wood that has a pleasing texture to the eye instead of chewed up toothpicks? regular wood is just as organic as hemp.
Notice how answering the question about where the idea to use hemp in car panels comes from is ignored. The first person to build a hemp car was Henry Ford. Imagine the impact on global warming reduction if for the last 100 years we were using hemp for bio-diesel and plastics.

No more oil leaks if we ran cars on hemp oil! But the petrochemical conglomerates won’t let us.
